Prof Caroline Dive awarded CBE in the New Year's Honours list

30 December 2017

In this year’s New Year’s Honours list, our Deputy Director Professor Caroline Dive has been named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for her services to cancer research. In particular, she has been recognised for her pioneering work on developing blood tests known as liquid biopsies.

CRUK spoke to her about this recognition of her outstanding career, the changes she has seen in her time at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute and what’s she’s excited for in the future. For more about the interview, see New Year’s Honours 2018: Professor Caroline Dive, CBE, and her career in lung cancer research.

Professor Dive said, “And whilst I know this is a personal award, it really does reflect the work of a number of people working at the Manchester Institute for Cancer Research UK. They are a great team and I am lucky to work here.”

Institute Director Professor Richard Marais added, "We are all incredibly proud of Caroline's achievements and for the public recognition of her contribution to cancer research".
