Genome Editing and Mouse Models

The Genome Editing and Mouse Models facility is a core facility that generates novel genetically modified mice. It is responsible for the targeting strategy design, generation of required reagents, breeding, genotyping, and cryopreserving new mouse lines.

We work closely with users to design the targeting approach based on their needs and provide fully customisable support to enable the successful achievement of the experimental aims.

The facility will purify all the reagents that will be injected into the embryos. The introduction of any material into the embryos is a meticulous and delicate process. It is essential that the purity of the materials being injected is controlled to ensure the survival of the embryo.

The facility also coordinates the import and export of transgenic mice as well as archiving.
