The CRUK Manchester Institute is a world-leading centre for excellence in cancer research within The University of Manchester. With over 400 Postdoctoral Scientists, Clinical Fellows, Scientific Officers, Informaticians, Operational and Technical staff, Postgraduate Research Students and Visiting Fellows we pride ourselves on being as much a community as a workplace.

CRUK Manchester Institute is part of a thriving cancer research community within Manchester, we are part of the Manchester Cancer Research Centre partnership through which we are partnered with the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Europe.   • The annual Institute retreat – “The Colloquium” is a great opportunity for scientists to present their research, gather, collaborate, reflect and discuss future developments

  • A varied programme of seminars featuring external speakers alongside our postdoctoral and student talk series
  • A structured on-boarding programme for all new staff, to welcome and integrate you into the Institute
  • Annual performance and development reviews, to provide an opportunity to identify your career aspirations and structure your individual objectives and development for your specific role
  • On-going access to an extensive programme of courses, designed by The University of Manchester’s in-house Staff Training and Development Unit, for all career stages
