Whether you are a research scientist or operational staff you will receive excellent on the job training and an opportunity to share skills, experience and expertise in a collaborative environment.

- A varied programme of seminars featuring external speakers alongside our postdoctoral and student talk series
- A structured on-boarding programme for all new staff, to welcome and integrate you into the Institute
- Annual performance and development reviews, to provide an opportunity to identify your career aspirations and structure your individual objectives and development for your specific role
- On-going access to an extensive programme of courses, designed by The University of Manchester’s in-house Staff Training and Development Unit, for all career stages

Other training
At the University, there are additional resources and support that empower staff members to excel in their roles and contribute effectively to the dynamic landscape of our organisation. These include Essential Courses that provide sufficient training for all colleagues to ensure Compliance and Risk, General Health and Safety procedures are understood and met, as well as having an appreciation and understanding of diversity in the workplace.
The Digital Learning Hub helps staff learning to support the use of digital technology to improve our ways of working.

The Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute, an Institute of The University of Manchester, is a world-leading centre for excellence in cancer research. The Institute is core funded by Cancer Research UK (www.cancerresearchuk.org),
the largest independent cancer research organisation in the world.
We are partnered with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Europe, which is located adjacent to the CRUK MI Manchester Institute in South Manchester. These factors combine to provide an exceptional environment in which to pursue basic, translational and clinical research programmes.
